Customer's Challenge
The primary structural challenge involved installing walls that could withstand heavy loads and maintain integrity. We needed to build partition walls for the back-of-house areas, including the manager’s office and IT store. We completed all of this while ensuring the electrical services could run concealed within the system. A key safety requirement was installing a complex one-hour fire-rated umbrella detail at the top of the walls. This is to prevent buckling under heavy roof loads, such as snow.
Our Solution
We executed a precision internal fit-out, starting with the installation of stud and track wall liners for the back-of-house. We then moved on to the front-of-house separation. The liners allowed seamless electrical service runs behind the partitions before final boarding. We then applied a comprehensive tape and fill finish for a flawless surface ready for decoration. Our team successfully engineered and fitted the bespoke one-hour fire-rated umbrella detail. This secured the walls against extreme roof conditions as required by airport regulations. We also installed a functional suspended ceiling in the kitchen area, meeting specific functional and aesthetic requirements.
