Winning this project was achieved after passing thorough, rigorous security and documentation checks, including providing all necessary risk assessments, method statements, and insurance policies for working airside. Customer's Challenge
The project required meticulous segregation of the space with specific fire-rating requirements throughout the back-of-house. The most significant technical challenge was the front shopfront bulkhead. This required a bespoke design and a stronger structural system to safely support the substantial weight of the new M&S signage. Compliant fire-stopping and robust construction were essential for this high-traffic area.
Our Solution
We delivered the precise specification required for safety and functionality. We built 1-hour fire rated stud partition walls to securely separate the shop floor from the stockroom, and installed 30-minute fire rated metal stud partition walls for the internal stores and office areas. To meet the demanding weight of the signage requirements, the front bulkhead was constructed using SFS stud work, which is a heavier-duty C-section metal stud than standard profiles.
